The Death Panel’s Handbook

August 23, 2009 – 11:44 am

The VA is already pushing ‘quality-of-life’ death counseling.  “Your Life, Your Choices” outlines what one commentator termed a ‘push poll’ type of analysis (p. 24) of what a veteran should consider in determining if their life is worth living.  This booklet predates Obama, but perfectly encapsulates the philosophy that would guide end-of-life decision-making.

Liberals railed against ‘death squads’ in Central America back in the 1980s (though never against killers of the Left, I might add).  They are now proposing death squads as the way to control health care costs.  The VA book, aimed at those who have gone in harm’s way for the rest of us, ought to give all who hear of it pause in considering what is in store for the rest of us if Obama & Co. have their way.
