I didn’t own you…
June 19, 2009 – 12:54 pm…so I don’t owe you. Include me out of the Senate’s craven, pathetic ‘apology’ for slavery. No one alive in a half-century can have any claim to have been an actor on either side of the slavery issue. This is the kind of foolish, self-loathing nonsense that the ’60s radical, spoiled Boomers are saddling America with, now that they are in charge. If an apology is owed, how about the Democratic Party taking the lead and apologizing for Herman Talmidge, George Wallace, Bull Connor, etc., since they were all members of their party, and the victims of Jim Crow are still with us. Maybe the Democrats should pay reparations. But, as I said, include me out, unless and until I am presented with my former slaves’ demands. Finally, to stir up old passions is nothing but a fool’s erand, as it leads to nothing but rising hate and resentment on all sides.
This country will never become color-blind, as long as our political class is peopled with the worst among us, as it now is.
P.S. Blood guilt is an explicitly Nazi doctrine; if you don’t believe me, then read it in Mein Kampf.

Same here.
I’ve never been a slave nor a slaveowner. Neither have been my ancestors, unless you count my Viking ancestor some one thousand years ago.
IF the Politically Correct are pushing this Biblical “sins of the fathers” business again, I refuse to play. As Texans would say, “I ain’t got no dawg in that hoooont.
How many Americans living today are in the same position? Most of us. All descendants of immigrants who came to America after 1863, for instance.
Apologizing for slavery is the business of PC hate-America leftists and their black minions. Count me out.
BTW, my Norwegian-immigrant great great grandpa Ole was perfectly willing to fight against slavery in the Civil War. He and his fellow recruits were marching to Fort Snelling from Southern Minnesota when their officers received word of Lee’s surrender at Appomattox. The company was immediately disbanded and sent home.

I won der if Judge Sotomayor feels included in the ‘apology.’ I suspect that the ‘apology’ is supposed to only cover white people, even if they just got off the boat or have Union Army service in their family tree. I called my Congressman to ask that he include me out p- by name, if possible – if this fool apology comes before the House.
