The Goddess Vents!
May 29, 2009 – 1:33 pmDear Friends: I need to vent…to go on a good old-fashioned rant. I was standing at the checkout line in the grocery store today, with the First Lady’s picture staring at me from the cover of the rag known as TIME — the title: “The Meaning of Michelle”. For me, this is the meaning:

President Obama recently gave a grand review of the accomplishments of his first four months in office, boldly claiming his record compares favorably with any chief executive since FDR. Then, to a thunderous round of cheers from the assembly, Obama declared: “Los Angeles, you ain’t seen nuthin’ yet!” Such a heady mixture of arrogance and hubris was roundly punished by Greek and Roman divinities. In fact, there as been serious discussion on Obama displaying clinical-level narcissism by qualified mental health professionals. Instead of FDR, Obama reminds me of Roman emperor Caligula, who held such contempt for the Senate he made his horse a member. Caligula’s thinking would at least make this action by Obama somewhat more understandable.
Barak Obama’s birthday is Aug. 4th: I say that we send him a pack of his favorite cigarettes as a gift. It has the beauty of being a two-fer: We can support an overly-maligned industry that is not politically correct AND we send a message of tender regard for our dear leader. I think we are showing Obama about the same level of respect he is showing our Constitution.
Meanwhile, keep track of Obama’s moves to nationalize healthcare for all “residents”, impose liberty-impending and capitalism-crushing Cap-and-Trade regulations, lie about success, punish the disagreeable, reward his voter-fraud promoting ACORN buddies, and insult our allies.
I am sure I will need to vent again soon.

Narcissism is a personality TRAIT. To qualify for disorder (personality disorder DSM-IV) one must exhibit one or more “traits” as a “lifelong pattern of maladaptive behavior”. One must be careful with clinical diagnoses though. Most great and/or powerful leaders throughout history could probably be “diagnosed” with a pathology or disorder.
The Obamessiah demonstrates narcissism but also grandiosity and difficulty with reality testing in regards to factual data considering history, economics and law. These “testing” failures are then apologized/excused through and by his narcissistic and grandiose traits.

Caligula? No. The horse (or horse’s ass) already entered the Senate. Perhaps he’s Eglabuis, who demanded divine honors, or a wanna-be Diocletian, who will re-make the state to resemble an oriental despotism, instead of having the form of a (long-dead) Republic. I favor the latter, as his rule, like Obama’s (so far) represents a sharp break with the past, and also because both built on the work of their immediate predecessors – Diocletian codifying the ad hoc efforts of the better “Barracks Emperors” as part of his remake of the Roman world, including formal serfdom and wage & price controls, and Obama building on Bush ’43s bailouts and extensions of the national security state.
In both cases, their efforts brought on the Dark Ages (or will, if not reversed).
