The 80 Percent Formula

Bruce illustrates the difference between a moderate Republican and a republicrat such as Olympia Snowe.  Ronald Reagan had it right “The person who agrees with you 80 percent of the time is a friend and an ally — not a 20 percent traitor.”

The problem with the Elephant herd currently elected is that they are more concerned, most of them FAR MORE concerned about their own perpetuation than about the direction of this country.

A writer told me that I was too exclusionary in my view of what a conservative, constitutional originalist party should be.  I disagree.  I certainly subscribe to the Reagan philosophy above.  I’m far from a single issue voter but I do ardently believe that government isn’t the solution to our problems, it IS THE PROBLEM. I would point out the intellectual excellence of our dear friend Sally.  We have distinct disagreements in future vision.  We share a love of American Freedom and a recognition of the need for smaller, constitutional government and a robust free market economy.  I consider people such as Sally as my friends and allies in the defense of American Freedom.
