HR 1207 – Audit the Fed – Letter to my Congressman

April 7, 2009 – 11:21 am

Dear Congressman:
Greetings.  I write to ask for your support for HR 1207, a bill that would compel an audit of the Federal Reserve Board.  The Fed is unelected, answers to no one, and weilds enormous power.  They are effectively a fourth branch of government.  Our current crisis, like the Great Depression, is at least partly attributable to the Fed’s mismanagement of the money supply.  Given that they have such power, and that they are as prone to error as is any other body established by human authority, they require the same system of checks and balances as do the legitimate branches of our Federal government.
Therefore, I ask for your thoughtful consideration for HR 1207, because we need to hold the Fed accountable for their actions.

Best Regards,
ssgconway
